**** For Sale By Customer **** Range Rover Classic 2 Door 3.5 V8 very late registered Suffix 'C' Range Rover This car has been imported from South Africa and is in a very rare rust free condition! This vehicle was featured on the Range Rover Register stand at the Manchester Classic Car Show (Event City). Full engineers report can be provided. Now the history.....The VIN tells us that the car is a 1974 Suffix C somehow it wasn't registered until 1981 in South Africa however it has been built to a custom specification for its year so whether this caused a delay or it was sat in stock we will never know. It does have a manufactured in Solihull on the UK VIN plate and has not been issued with the South African VIN plate. Annoyingly British motor Heritage just listed the VIN as Complete Knock Down (supplied to south Africa for assembly) I have been in contact with Jaguar Landrover who are now restoring Classics and although they confirmed to the DVLA that the suffix C would have been released between Oct 1973 and April 1975 they would not give it an age related plate because the exact month was not stated. Work carried out....The carburettors were rebuilt and the car given a service. The engine starts on the button and it is very strong and sweet. New Ball joints for the steering were fitted as well as new front brake hoses. A Good second hand genuine radiator was fitted as well as a new thermostat and anti freeze. You have to view this Range Rover to understand the condition of the structure. its been in a dry state and I was told it was put into a museum for a few years prior to coming over to the UK. The interior is very clean and trimmed to a high standard, looks again as a special order, air conditioning and electric front windows were also fitted. The colour is original as some paint work done, and when the car was sanded back it just had this one colour underneath. The roof was not painted and is original (Plymouth Blue) The wheels have been refurbished. The drive is very good for an early Range Rover, upgraded shock absorbers have been fitted at some point and body roll is minimal. The steering is precise, a new Terrafirma steering damper was fitted when the ball joints were done. A retro fit "Filter King" fuel pressure regulator/filter has been flitted to supply the Strombergs carburettors. These were common in the 70's and 80's to avoid over pressurising the feed. Has 12 months MOT. Showing 29,000 miles, but this cannot be verified. Please Contact Nigel Kearney directly on 07711 616999, or e mail email@example.com
